Corona Simulation Products

Simulators and Training Devices

Corona has the capability to build many different types of simulator for training and entertainment use.  Our simulators are reconfigurable, portable and scalable from desktop systems all the way up to motion platforms. Our simulators are cloud-enabled and allow remote management and monitoring capabilities.  Configured with simPIN™ instruments, these offer unparalleled flexibility and reconfigurability to save resource, time and money.   Contact us for your specific requirements.

Simulator Programmable Instrument Nodes (simPIN™)

Based on open source hardware and software, these are programmable modules that use a modified CAN-BUS architecture to share flight, sensor and engine information around an aircraft network.  These are adapted for use in proposed Corona desktop simulators and part-task trainers and will provide a low-cost and efficient way to build and integrate the simulators into the Corona infrastructure.  These instrument nodes are interfaced into the simulator using standard application programming interfaces (API) and provide the same data stream information that an actual aircraft would produce.  With a hot-swap capability, these nodes are far more capable than existing USB-based simulated instruments and controls.  These IoT cloud-enabled instruments are capable of remote management and monitoring offering incredible flexibility to operators of our simulators.

Corona Thin Client “Simulation Appliances”

Corona provides thin-client hardware and back-end hardware systems optimized for simulation and distributed training applications.  These appliances work with the Corona Cloud services to provide MSaaS and other distributed applications as required.

The Corona Simulation Appliances are based on the Dell Wyse 7000 series thin clients and Wyse Cloud Connect (or equivalent) devices.  The Wyse 7000 systems have embedded GPU capable of supporting up to four monitors.  These systems are used for moderate desktop training systems that do not require 60Hz real-time 3D graphics.

Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® Development

Prepar3D (pronounced “prepared”) is a visual simulation platform that allows users to create training scenarios across aviation, maritime and ground domains. Prepar3D engages users in immersive training through realistic environments. Ideal for commercial, academic, professional, or military instruction. Prepar3D can be used to quickly create learning scenarios anywhere in the virtual world, from under water to sub orbital space.

Corona has specific expertise in using the Lockheed Martin Prepar3D simulation development environment to quickly build and integrate simulators for different platforms.  The President of Corona, John Nicol is the former Lockheed Martin Principal Engineer for Prepar3D.
